Standard Gas Struts
Standard Gas Struts are often referred to as Gas Shocks, Gas Pistons, or Gas Springs. They provide a "push" type force in the application. Nitrider® / GSNI models combine cost effective steel construction with optimal nitride coating for added corrosion resistance. Nitrider® models surpass a 144 hour salt spray test. Complete parts are black in appearance. GSSX models utilize 316SS construction for maximum corrosion resistance. Surfaces are specially treated for additional hardness. 316SS provide the high cleanliness and corrosion protection required for the marine, medical, and food service industries. Standard struts have dampening on extension only.
Gas Spring Force & Compression
The spring force listed in the data table is for the extended position of the strut; forces will increase slightly as the strut is compressed. End fittings are supplied as indicated in the data table, but Associated Spring RAYMOND offers a complete line of end fittings to suit your application.
